The figure of approximately 11,403 vacancies has been calculated by adding all State/UT-wise vacancies mentioned in the official notification. This total excludes vacancies of Union Bank of India because they have been marked as “NR” (Not Reported) in every State and Union Territory.

The vacancies are only indicative and anticipated, and the final vacancy position may change depending upon the requirements reported by the participating banks before provisional allotment.

Candidates may be posted anywhere within the State/UT for which they apply, depending upon the participating bank and final allotment.

State-wise Indicative Vacancy Details

The official notification also provides complete category-wise (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) vacancies along with reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-Servicemen separately for every State and Union Territory.

Education Qualification of Customer Service Associate Vacancy 2026

Candidates must satisfy all educational requirements on or before 21 August 2026.

Essential Qualification

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from:

• A University recognised by the Government of India, or
• Any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

The qualification must be completed before the closing date of online registration.

Computer Literacy

Computer literacy is compulsory.

Candidates must possess any one of the following:

• Certificate in Computer Operations
• Diploma in Computer Operations
• Degree involving Computer Studies
• Computer or Information Technology as a subject in High School, College or University

Local Language Proficiency

Candidates must have proficiency in:

• Reading
• Writing
• Speaking
• Understanding

the specified local language of the State/Union Territory for which they are applying.

Candidates who have studied the local language up to Class 10 or higher are generally exempted from appearing in the Local Language Proficiency Test.

Qualification for Ex-Servicemen

Ex-servicemen who do not possess the prescribed graduation qualification are also eligible if they:

• Are matriculate,
• Have completed at least 15 years of service in the Armed Forces,
• Hold the Army Special Certificate of Education or equivalent Navy/Air Force certificate,
• Possess the certificate on or before 21 August 2026.

Other Eligibility Criteria

Apart from the educational qualification, candidates must also satisfy all the eligibility conditions prescribed by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not automatically guarantee appointment. Candidates who qualify through the Common Recruitment Process (CRP CSA-XVI) and receive provisional allotment will still have to satisfy the eligibility conditions of the participating bank before appointment.

Nationality

A candidate must be any one of the following:

• A Citizen of India, or
• A Subject of Nepal, or
• A Subject of Bhutan, or
• A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 01 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
• A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from:

Candidates belonging to categories other than Indian citizens must possess the eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India wherever applicable.

Age Limit

The age of the candidate will be calculated as on 01 August 2026.

Candidates should have been born:

• Not earlier than 02 August 1998
• Not later than 01 August 2006

Both dates are inclusive.

Upper Age Relaxation

IBPS has provided relaxation in the upper age limit for reserved categories according to Government of India rules.

Important Note

IBPS has specifically mentioned that:

• Age relaxation available for SC/ST/OBC candidates can be combined with only one of the other relaxation categories mentioned in the notification.
• Multiple relaxation categories cannot generally be combined simultaneously beyond the provisions mentioned by IBPS.

Salary Details

Candidates selected as Customer Service Associate (CSA) will receive salary according to the pay scale prescribed by the participating Public Sector Banks.

Basic Pay Scale

Salary Progression

The above pay scale means the employee receives annual increments over different stages of service according to banking rules.

The progression is as follows:

• Initial Basic Pay: ₹24,050
• Annual Increment of ₹1,340 for the first 3 years
• Annual Increment of ₹1,650 for the next 3 years
• Annual Increment of ₹2,000 for the next 4 years
• Annual Increment of ₹2,340 for the following 7 years
• Annual Increment of ₹4,400 for the next stage
• Annual Increment of ₹2,680 in the final stage

Allowances and Benefits

In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will receive various allowances and benefits as per the rules of the allotted Public Sector Bank.

These generally include:

• Dearness Allowance (DA)
• House Rent Allowance (HRA)
• Special Allowance
• Transport Allowance
• Medical Benefits
• Leave Benefits
• Pension Benefits (as applicable)
• Other admissible allowances
