Assam Government OBC Scholarship 2024 Notification
Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes, Assam has released the official notification of Assam Government OBC Scholarship Scheme. Essentially, these are centrally sponsored schemes of Pre-Matric and Post-Matric scholarships for the students of Assam belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC / MOBC) for the academic year 2023-2024. Interested and eligible candidates may apply online for the OBC Scholarship Assam 2024 through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at www.scholarships.gov.in.

Name of Scholarship Scheme: Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students

Eligibility Criteria for Assam Government OBC Scholarship 2024
Community: Only OBC Community Students are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.
Citizenship: The scholarships are open to Nationals of India only.
Family Restriction: Only two boys of the same parents/guardian will be entitled to receive scholarships. This restriction will not apply to girls. Accordingly, scholarships availed by girls of the same parents/guardian will not adversely affect the admissibility of availing scholarships up to two boys of the same parents/guardian.
Income Ceiling:
Pre-Matric (Class-IX & X) [Component-I] and Post-Matric Scholarship: Scholarships will be granted to OBC students whose parental/guardian’s income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum. The income certificate should be obtained only from the Circle Officer of the respective Revenue Circle.
Pre-Matric (Class I-X) [Component-II] Scholarship: No income bar for the children of those engaged in occupations involving cleaning and prone to health hazards.
Note: Eligible candidates will submit a certificate from the District Social Welfare office, identified officer of the Local body, Civic Agency, or any such authority designated by the State Government for children engaged in occupations involving cleaning and prone to health hazards.
Documents Required to apply Assam Government OBC Scholarship 2024
Students must submit the following documents along with the OBC Scholarship Application Form:
- Bank Passbook
- Income Certificate
- Caste Certificate
- Aadhaar Card
Note:
Applicants are advised to provide only the bank account details that remain active to ensure the successful payment of the scholarship, as all disbursements will be made through the DBT mode. The authority will not be responsible for any transaction failure due to inactive or incorrect bank details.
Applicants should ensure that their bank account is linked with the Aadhaar number.
Aadhaar is mandatory for all applicants. However, for minor applicants applying without Aadhaar, it is mandatory for the parent or legal guardian to provide Aadhaar.
