Assam Government SC Scholarship 2024 official notification has been released by the Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes, Assam. This scholarship scheme includes centrally sponsored Pre-Matric and Post-Matric scholarships for Assam students belonging to Other Backward Classes (SC / MSC) for the academic year 2023-2024. Eligibility Criteria for Assam Government SC Scholarship 2024
Community: Only students belonging to the SC community are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Citizenship: The scholarships are open to Indian nationals only.
State of Domicile: Domicile state refers to the state in which students have their permanent address. It’s crucial to provide the correct domicile state, as applications may undergo verification by the authorities in the state of domicile.
Family Restriction: All children of any parent/guardian will be entitled to receive benefits under the scheme.
Income Ceiling:
For Pre-Matric (Class-IX & X) [Component-I] and Post-Matric Scholarship: Scholarships will be granted to SC students whose parental/guardian’s income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum. The income certificate should be obtained from the Circle Officer of the respective Revenue Circle.
For Pre-Matric (Class I-X) [Component-II] Scholarship: There is no income bar for the children of those engaged in occupations involving cleaning and prone to health hazards. Eligible candidates must submit a certificate from the District Social Welfare office, an identified officer of the Local body, Civic Agency, or any such authority designated by the State Government.
Documents Required to apply Assam Government SC Scholarship 2024
Students must have the following documents to complete the SC Scholarship Application Form:
- Bank Passbook
- Income Certificate
- Caste Certificate
- Aadhaar Card
Note:
Applicants are advised to provide details of an active bank account to ensure the smooth disbursement of the scholarship through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. The authority will not be responsible for transaction failures due to inactive or incorrect bank details.
Applicants should ensure that their bank account is linked with the Aadhaar number.
Aadhaar is mandatory for all applicants. However, for minor applicants without Aadhaar, it becomes mandatory for the parent or legal guardian to provide Aadhaar details.
