The works of PLVs do not carry any salary, remuneration or wages except honorarium fixed by DLSA, Time to time.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) should be literate, preferably matriculate, with a capacity for overall comprehension.
- Retired Teachers.
- Retired Government servants and senior citizens.
- Anganwadi Workers.
- Students and Law Students.
- Members of non-political, service-oriented NGOs, and Clubs.
- Doctors/Physicians.
- Members of Women Neighbourhood Groups, Maithri Sanghams, and other Self-Help Groups, including marginalized/vulnerable groups.
- Educated prisoners with good behavior, serving long-term sentences in prisons.
- Any other persons whom the District Legal Services Authority or Taluk Legal Services Committee deems fit to be identified as PLVs.

Instead, they should possess a mindset geared towards assisting the needy in society, demonstrating compassion, empathy, and a genuine concern for the upliftment of marginalized and weaker sections of society. - The applications should be dropped in the DROP BOX kept in the premises of the office of the District Legal Services Authority, Goalpara, District Judiciary Complex, Bhalukdubi, Goalpara, Assam, on or before the last date.

- Selected Para Legal Volunteers shall be required to undergo a training program as per the decision of the District Legal Services Authority, Goalpara.
- The decisions of the selection committee in shortlisting the number of candidates for the interview and selection of PLVs shall be final. The eligible candidates shall have to appear for the interview before the selection committee on the date which will be notified on the official website.
