• Professor: Academic Level 14 – Entry Pay ₹1,44,200/- (Pre-revised: ₹37,400-67,000 + AGP ₹10,000)
• Associate Professor / Deputy Librarian: Academic Level 13A – Entry Pay ₹1,31,400/- (Pre-revised: ₹37,400-67,000 + AGP ₹9,000)
• Assistant Professor / Assistant Librarian: Academic Level 10 – Entry Pay ₹57,700/- (Pre-revised: ₹15,600-39,100 + AGP ₹6,000)

Age Limit & Relaxation for NCERT Recruitment 2026

• Age Limit: As per UGC / NCERT / Government of India norms

Educational Qualification & Experience

Professor (Eligibility A or B)

A.

• Eminent scholar with Ph.D. in concerned/allied/relevant discipline
• High-quality published work, actively engaged in research
• Minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals
• Total research score of 120 (as per UGC Appendix II, Table 2)
• Minimum 10 years teaching experience (as Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor) and/or research experience at university/national level institutions
• Evidence of successfully guiding doctoral candidates

OR B. Outstanding professional with Ph.D. in relevant/allied/applied disciplines from academic institutions/industry, significant contribution to knowledge, supported by evidence, and 10 years’ experience.

Associate Professor

• Good academic record with Ph.D. Degree in concerned/allied/relevant disciplines
• Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade)
• Minimum 8 years teaching and/or research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor level in University/College/Accredited Research Institution/industry
• Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals
• Total research score of 75 (as per UGC Appendix II, Table 2)

Assistant Professor (Eligibility A or B)

A.

• Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in concerned/relevant/allied subject
• Must have cleared NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar test accredited by UGC (SLET/SET)
• OR Ph.D. awarded as per UGC regulations 2009/2016 (exemption from NET/SLET/SET)
• Special provisions for Ph.D. registered before July 11, 2009 (conditions apply)

OR B. Ph.D. from foreign university ranked among top 500 in QS, THE, or ARWU rankings.

Deputy Librarian

• Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science with at least 55% marks
• 8 years experience as Assistant University Librarian/College Librarian
• Evidence of innovative library services and ICT integration
• Ph.D. in library science/information science/documentation/archives/computerization of library

Assistant Librarian

• Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science or equivalent with at least 55% marks
• Consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library
• Cleared NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC regulations (similar exemptions as Assistant Professor apply)
