POWERGRID is engaging experienced personnel for its consultancy project in Arunachal Pradesh. The selected Field Engineers will work at project locations depending on organisational and project requirements.
Field Engineer (Electrical)

The Electrical Field Engineer position is intended for candidates with a full-time engineering degree in the relevant Electrical discipline along with at least one year of post-qualification experience.

Candidates must hold the prescribed full-time engineering qualification from a recognised University or Institute and must meet the minimum marks and experience requirements.

Candidates must have:
- Full-time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engineering) in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 55% marks.
- At least one year of post-qualification experience.
The experience should be in relevant areas involving design, engineering, construction, testing and commissioning connected with rural electrification, distribution systems, sub-transmission, transmission lines, substations and related power-sector works.
Experience in a PSU or listed company, especially in the power sector, will be preferred.

The maximum age is 29 years as on 5 September 2026.
Candidates should not have been born before 5 September 1997.
Age Relaxation

Experience Conditions
The required experience must be post-qualification experience. Training, teaching, internship and apprenticeship periods will not be counted as experience.
Candidates must possess qualifications recognised by the relevant statutory authorities such as UGC or AICTE. Correspondence-course engineering degrees will not be considered as recognised qualifications under the stated AICTE norms.
Where CGPA, OGPA, DGPA or letter grades are awarded, candidates must provide the equivalent percentage according to the conversion method prescribed by their University or Institute.
Reservation and Category Certificates
Candidates claiming reservation or relaxation must possess the required valid certificates in the prescribed Government of India format.
For example, EWS candidates must have an Income & Asset Certificate based on FY 2025–26 and issued on or after 1 April 2026. OBC (NCL) candidates must possess the required certificate based on the specified financial years and issued on or after 1 April 2026.

Application for Existing POWERGRID Contract Personnel
Candidates who have previously worked in POWERGRID as Field Engineers or AE (FTB) for at least one year may apply afresh, subject to the conditions specified in the notification.
Existing contractual personnel working in POWERGRID consultancy projects must apply through the proper channel wherever applicable. The concerned Regional HR department is required to forward the application along with performance feedback.
Selection Process
The selection process will primarily involve an Interview of eligible and shortlisted candidates. However, POWERGRID may conduct a screening test if necessary to restrict the number of candidates called for the interview.
The screening test, if conducted, will be used only for shortlisting and will not carry weightage in the final merit.

Contract Duration and Employment Conditions
The engagement will initially remain valid for 24 months or until completion of the projects, whichever is earlier.
Depending on work requirements, the contractual period may be extended by one year at a time, up to a maximum cumulative period of five years.
The engagement is purely temporary and contractual. It does not automatically give the selected candidate a right to claim regular employment in POWERGRID.
POWERGRID may also provide eligible Fixed Term Employees an opportunity to participate in internal selection for regular posts after completing the minimum prescribed tenure, subject to the conditions, performance requirements and organisational needs mentioned in the notification.
