Applicants must be 18 to 33 years of age as on 1 January 2026.

Salary
Selected candidates will receive salary under Pay Level-1 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
- Basic Pay: ₹18,000 per month
- Additional allowances such as DA, HRA, TA, and other benefits will be applicable as per Railway rules.

Selection Process of RRB Group D Recruitment 2026
The selection process for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 consists of the following four stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Document Verification (DV)
- Medical Examination (ME)
Computer Based Test (CBT)
The first stage of the recruitment process is a Computer Based Test (CBT). The exam will be conducted for 90 minutes and will consist of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Generally, candidates up to three times the notified vacancies (community-wise) will be called for PET.
RRB Group D PET Standards

Important: The PET is qualifying in nature. Candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards to proceed to the next stage.
Document Verification (DV)
Candidates who qualify both the CBT and PET will be called for Document Verification (DV).
- Candidates equal to the number of notified vacancies (1:1 ratio) will be shortlisted.
- Original educational certificates, identity proof, category certificates, and other required documents must be produced during verification.
Tie-Breaking Criteria
If two or more candidates secure the same normalized percentile score:
- The older candidate will be given preference.
- If the age is also the same, the candidate whose name comes first alphabetically (A–Z) will be placed higher in the merit list.
Medical Examination (ME)
Candidates who successfully complete the Document Verification stage must undergo a Medical Examination conducted by the Railway Administration.
Final appointment will be subject to:
- Qualifying the prescribed Medical Fitness Test.
- Successful verification of educational and category certificates.
- Character and antecedent verification by the Railway Administration.
