The recruitment covers six specialist positions. Among these, three Deputy Vice President posts are contractual, while the three Deputy Manager positions are regular posts.

1. Deputy Vice President – Cyber Innovation & Simulation Lab

• Nature of Engagement: Contractual, SMGS-V

The role focuses on leading an Innovation and Simulation Lab, driving cybersecurity research, developing prototypes, evaluating emerging technologies and strengthening the organisation’s security posture.

2. Deputy Vice President – Citizen Centric Initiatives

• Nature of Engagement: Contractual, SMGS-V
• Vacancy: 1
• Age Limit: 35 to 45 years
• Annual CTC: Up to Rs. 60 lakh
• Contract Period: 3 years, extendable by another 2 years
• Posting: Mumbai or anywhere in India

The selected professional will lead citizen-centric cybersecurity initiatives, promote cyber awareness, manage programmes and coordinate with government bodies, technology organisations and other stakeholders.

3. Deputy Vice President – Cyber Security

• Age Limit: 35 to 45 years

• Contract Period: 3 years, extendable by another 2 years

This role involves cyber defence, threat intelligence, security architecture, incident response, cyber research, forensic investigation and development of cybersecurity strategies.

4. Deputy Manager – AI Specialists

• Posting: As decided by SBI

The position covers AI/ML development, LLMs, SLMs, GANs, RAG pipelines, AI security, cloud infrastructure, AI governance, model risk assessment and deployment.

5. Deputy Manager – IT Security Expert

The position focuses on cybersecurity compliance, risk assessment, audit management, security policies, regulatory requirements and cybersecurity governance.

6. Deputy Manager – Cyber Security Analyst

• Nature of Engagement: Regular

The role covers cybersecurity policy, regulatory research, technical documentation, policy advocacy, risk assessment and communication with government and regulatory stakeholders.

The vacancy distribution is 34 posts in total, comprising 22 unreserved, 4 SC, 1 ST, 7 OBC and 2 EWS vacancies. PwBD reservations are horizontal and included within the relevant parent categories.

The educational requirements vary according to the position.

Deputy Vice President Posts

Candidates applying for the DVP positions must possess any of the following:

• BE/BTech in any discipline from a recognised university, institution or board approved by the Government of India or relevant regulatory bodies; or
• MCA;
• ME/MTech; or
• MSc in any discipline from a recognised institution.

Preferred certifications for the DVP positions include CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, PMP and MBA in Technology Management.

Deputy Manager – AI Specialists

Candidates must have:

• BTech/BE in Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Electronics & Communications Engineering or an equivalent discipline with at least 50% marks; or
• MCA; or
• MTech/MSc in the specified computer science, information technology, AI, software engineering or electronics-related disciplines.

The qualification must be from a university, institution or board recognised by the Government of India or approved by the relevant regulatory authorities.

Preferred professional certifications include Advanced in AI Audit, Advanced in AI Security Management, Advanced in AI Risk, AWS Certified AI Practitioner, Google Cloud Professional ML Engineer and IBM AI Engineering Professional Certificate.

Deputy Manager – IT Security Expert

Applicants need:

• BTech/BE in Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics or Electronics & Communications Engineering, or an equivalent discipline with at least 50% marks; or
• MCA; or
• MTech/MSc in the specified disciplines.

Preferred certifications include ISO 27001, CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CISM, CCSP, GDPR, DPDPA and advanced cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance qualifications.

Deputy Manager – Cyber Security Analyst

Candidates need:

Experience Requirements

Experience is a major eligibility requirement for these specialist positions.

DVP – Cyber Innovation & Simulation Lab

Candidates require at least 12 years of overall experience, including at least 6 years in areas such as technology innovation, IT innovation, digital innovation, emerging technologies, cybersecurity innovation, technology strategy, innovation labs, Centres of Excellence, digital transformation, product innovation or technology consulting.

DVP – Citizen Centric Initiatives

Candidates need a minimum of 12 years of experience in BFSI IT, Information Security or Cyber Security, including at least 6 years in cybersecurity or cybersecurity awareness activities.

DVP – Cyber Security

Applicants require at least 12 years of experience in BFSI IT, Information Security or Cyber Security, including at least 6 years in Cyber Research or Cyber Defence & Intelligence.

Deputy Manager – AI Specialists

Candidates need 4 years of post-qualification experience in the Information Technology domain. At least 2 years should involve areas such as machine learning or deep learning models, GenAI/RAG pipelines, secure API deployment, cloud ML platforms, AI/ML libraries, Python, prompt engineering or fine-tuning.

Deputy Manager – IT Security Expert

Candidates require at least 4 years of post-qualification experience in Cyber Security or Information Technology. At least 2 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity compliance is preferred.

Deputy Manager – Cyber Security Analyst

Candidates require at least 4 years of post-qualification experience in Cyber Security or Information Technology. At least 2 years of experience in IT security policy, cybersecurity policy development, technical writing or governance, risk and compliance roles is preferred.

Training and teaching experience will not be counted for the prescribed experience requirement. Candidates must provide proper experience certificates showing the nature of duties, dates, duration, position and responsibilities.

Other Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The age will be calculated as on July 31, 2026.

Age relaxation is available according to Government of India guidelines. The notification specifies 3 years for OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates and applicable PwBD relaxation of 10, 13 or 15 years depending on the category.

Candidates seeking reservation or age relaxation must produce valid certificates from the competent authority. OBC candidates must satisfy the Non-Creamy Layer requirements, while EWS candidates must produce the prescribed Income & Asset Certificate based on FY 2025-26 income.

Candidates can apply for only one post. The notification also states that multiple applications and incorrect or suppressed information can lead to rejection of candidature.

Salary and Benefits

The contractual DVP positions carry an upper annual CTC of Rs. 60 lakh. The CTC consists of 90% fixed pay and 10% variable pay. An annual increment of up to 10% may be considered from the second year onwards based on performance.

For the regular Deputy Manager positions, the basic pay scale is:

Regular officers are also eligible for benefits such as DA, HRA, CCA, PF, NPS, LFC, medical facilities and leave according to the applicable SBI rules.

For contractual positions, the contract may be terminated by either side by giving three months’ notice or by payment/surrender of three months’ compensation in lieu of notice.
