Selection Process

The selection process for the Junior Associate post consists of an Online Preliminary Examination, Online Main Examination and a test of the specified opted local language, wherever applicable. Candidates should understand the structure of each stage because the Preliminary Examination is used for shortlisting, while the Main Examination marks are considered for the final merit list.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is an online objective test carrying 100 marks. The examination has a total duration of 60 minutes, with separate timing for each section.

Each section has a separate time limit. Candidates should therefore complete each test within the allotted time.

There is negative marking in the objective tests. For every wrong answer, one-fourth (1/4th) of the mark assigned to that question will be deducted.

The notification does not prescribe minimum qualifying marks for individual tests or for the aggregate score. Section-wise marks will also not be maintained.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Examination based on their aggregate marks in the Preliminary Examination. The Bank will decide the number of candidates to be shortlisted in each category, with approximately 10 times the number of vacancies, subject to availability.

Phase-II: Main Examination

Candidates shortlisted from the Preliminary Examination will appear for the online Main Examination. The Main Examination consists of 190 questions carrying 200 marks, with an overall duration of 160 minutes.

Negative marking applies to the objective tests in the Main Examination. One-fourth (1/4th) of the mark assigned to a question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Candidates must secure the minimum percentage marks on aggregate as decided by the Bank. No minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for individual subjects, and section-wise marks will not be maintained.

The merit list will be prepared State-wise and category-wise. Candidates who qualify in the Main Examination will be arranged in descending order according to their aggregate marks within their respective State and category.

Local Language Proficiency Test

Candidates must possess proficiency in the specified opted local language of the State or Union Territory for which they have applied.

Candidates who qualify for selection and produce a Class 10 or Class 12 marksheet/certificate showing that they studied the specified local language will not be required to appear for the language test.

For other candidates who qualify for selection, the specified opted local language test will be conducted after provisional selection but before joining.

Candidates who fail to qualify in the local language test will not be offered appointment. A candidate who is not found proficient in the specified opted local language will be disqualified.

Final Selection

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be added to the final selection score.

Only the aggregate marks obtained in the Main Examination will be considered for preparation of the final merit list. Provisional selection will be made based on the candidate’s performance in the Main Examination.

The final merit list will be prepared according to the applicable State-wise and category-wise ranking. Candidates must also satisfy the applicable local language requirement before appointment.
