Selection Process of State Bank of India PO Recruitment 2026

The selection process for State Bank of India PO Recruitment 2026 consists of three phases: Preliminary Examination (Phase I), Main Examination (Phase II), and Interview & Group Exercise (Phase III). Candidates must qualify at each stage to be considered for final selection.

Preliminary Examination (Phase I)

The Preliminary Examination will be conducted online and consists of an Objective Test carrying 100 marks. The test includes three sections with separate timings for each section.

Descriptive Test

Interview & Group Exercise (Phase III)

Candidates shortlisted after the Main Examination will be called for Phase III.

The Bank may conduct a Psychometric Test for personality profiling before the Interview process. The results of the Psychometric Test may be shared with the Interview Panel for a comprehensive assessment of candidates.

Phase III includes:

• Group Exercise – 20 Marks
• Personal Interview – 30 Marks

Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by SBI in Phase III to be considered for final selection.

Final Selection

For the final merit list, candidates must qualify separately in both Phase II and Phase III.

The final merit list will be prepared based on:

• Marks obtained in the Main Examination (Objective + Descriptive Test)
• Marks obtained in the Group Exercise and Interview

The marks secured in the Preliminary Examination (Phase I) will not be considered while preparing the final merit list.
