Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil)

Two years of supervisory experience in the field of radio aids to navigation is required. The notification also mentions relevant desirable experience in generation, supply and transmission of power, including lighting, small motors and wiring.
Assistant Director (Engineering)
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university or institute.
The required experience is two years in either civil engineering works, including harbour engineering, or maintenance and operation of cranes, diesel locomotives, marine engines and related machinery in a mechanical or marine workshop or organisation.
Superintendent Translation (Hindi Branch)
Candidates may qualify through either of two routes.
For the first route, candidates need a Master’s Degree in Law along with the prescribed two years of relevant experience, such as State Judicial Service, legal affairs in Government or public-sector organisations, legal practice, teaching law, Hindi translation of statutes, rules and orders, or drafting statutes.
The candidate must also have passed the Secondary School Examination or a higher examination through Hindi medium or have studied Hindi as a subject at that level.
The second route permits candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and the corresponding four-year experience requirements.
Research Officer
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Geography, Geology, Applied Geology, Geoinformatics, Geographical Information System and Remote Sensing, Geomatics or Geospatial Technology from a recognised university or institute. They must also have studied Geography, Geology or Applied Geology as a subject throughout the bachelor’s degree.
Five years of experience in geographical and cartographical teaching or research involving data collection and preparation of maps on various themes is required. A doctorate in the relevant fields is desirable.
Horticulture Development Officer
Candidates must have a Bachelor in Horticulture Science or Bachelor in Agriculture Science.
Soil Conservation Assistant
Candidates must possess any one of the following:
- BSc Agriculture
- BSc Horticulture
- BSc or MSc Soil Science
- BE/BTech in Agricultural Engineering
The qualification must be from a recognised university or institute as specified in the notification.

Nationality
A candidate must generally be a citizen of India. Certain other categories, including subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, eligible Tibetan refugees and specified persons of Indian origin who migrated from listed countries, may also be considered subject to the conditions and eligibility certificate requirements stated in the notification.
Ladakh Domicile Requirement
The Horticulture Development Officer and Soil Conservation Assistant posts are exclusively for eligible domiciles of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
A valid Ladakh domicile certificate issued by the Tehsildar is required under the applicable Ladakh domicile rules. Eligible categories include persons holding or eligible to hold a Ladakh Resident Certificate and certain children of LRC holders.
The same domicile framework applies to the Soil Conservation Assistant recruitment.
Application Fee Details
The application fee is Rs. 25 for candidates who are not exempted.
Female candidates, SC candidates, ST candidates and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are exempted from payment of the fee. OBC, EWS and Unreserved male candidates are not exempted and must pay the prescribed fee.

Selection Process
The recruitment is conducted through direct recruitment by selection. Depending on the number of applications and the requirements of a particular post, UPSC may shortlist candidates using desirable qualifications, higher educational qualifications, additional relevant experience or a Recruitment Test.
