Eligibility
The candidates eligible to apply under this advertisement shall be those candidates who:
Were selected by the Central Selection Board, KAAC, for undergoing the One Year VFA Training Course pursuant to Advertisement No. KAAC/T&D-300/Pt.I/PC/CSB/2024-25/03, dated 20th December’2024 and Advertisement No. KAAC/T&D-300/Pt.I/PC/CSB/2024-25/10, dated 14th May’2025 and Prior Approval No. KDVD/Prior Approval/SIU/202324/199, dated 30/07/2025.
Have successfully completed the prescribed One Year Training Course in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science from the recognised School of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Ghungoor, Silchar;
Fulfill all other conditions prescribed under the Assam Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Subordinate Service Rules, 2002, as amended from time to time, and other applicable rules/orders.
Educational Qualification for Veterinary Field Assistant
For direct recruitment to the cadre of Veterinary Field Assistant, a candidate shall have:
Passed the HSSLC (Science) Examination with Biology as a subject from a recognised Board/Council; and
Successfully completed the prescribed One Year Training Course in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science from the recognised School of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Ghungoor, Silchar.
The qualification shall be as prescribed under the applicable provisions of the Assam Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Subordinate Service Rules, 2002, as amended from time to time.
Other Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
As per the Assam Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Subordinate Rules, 2002 and applicable Government orders. Age is determined from the HSLC Certificate/Admit Card or recognised board/council certificate.
Physical Standard
A candidate for direct recruitment to the cadre of Veterinary Field Assistant shall be of sound health, both mentally and physically, and free from any organic defect or bodily infirmity likely to interfere with the efficient performance of his/her duties. The selected candidates shall be required to undergo medical examination before appointment to the service.

The fee must be paid through a KAAC Money Receipt. Bank Draft, Money Order, Cash and Cheque are not accepted.
Selection Procedure
The selection of candidates shall be made by the Central Selection Board on the basis of merit, subject to fulfillment of all prescribed eligibility conditions, availability of sanctioned vacant posts and observance of the applicable reservation policy. Since the candidates covered under this advertisement have already been selected by the Central Selection Board for undergoing the prescribed One Year VFA Training Course and have successfully completed the said training, no fresh written examination shall be conducted.
The candidates shall be assessed on the following basis:

Method of Assessment
i. HSSLC (Science) Examination – 20 Marks: Twenty percent (20%) of the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the HSSLC (Science) Examination shall be taken into consideration.
ii. One Year VFA Training Course – 40 Marks: Forty percent (40%) of the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the prescribed One Year VFA Training Course in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science shall be taken into consideration.
iii. Viva-Voce – 40 Marks: The eligible candidates shall appear before the Central Selection Board/Interview Board for Viva-Voce carrying 40 (forty) marks. The Viva-Voce may assess the candidate’s knowledge of basic Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, practical understanding acquired during the training course, general awareness, suitability for the post and other matters considered relevant by the Selection Board.
The marks obtained under A, B and C above shall be added together to arrive at the candidate’s total score out of 100 marks.
The candidates shall thereafter be placed in order of merit on the basis of the total marks obtained, subject to the applicable reservation policy and availability of vacancies.
In the event of a tie in the total marks, the candidate securing higher marks in the VFA Training Course shall be placed higher in the merit list. If the tie still persists, the candidate securing higher marks in the Viva-Voce shall be placed higher.
The final recommendation of the Central Selection Board shall be subject to verification of original certificates/testimonials, medical fitness, character and antecedent verification wherever applicable, and approval of the competent authority.
Note: Mere completion of the VFA Training Course shall not confer an absolute right to appointment. Appointment shall be made only against available sanctioned vacant posts and subject to fulfillment of all prescribed conditions.

Applications must be submitted offline in the Standard Form published in Part-IX of the Assam Gazette.
- Download and complete the prescribed Standard Form.
- Attach the required self-attested certificates, mark sheets and testimonials.
- Affix one recent passport-size photograph to the form and enclose another photograph.
- Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope measuring 23 cm × 11 cm with a ₹5 postal stamp.
- Enclose the applicable KAAC Money Receipt for the application fee.
- Superscribe the envelope with “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF VETERINARY FIELD ASSISTANT (VFA)”.
